What’s with all these stores closing?

News from just the last two days:

Also, it sounds like Office Depot in Mayfield Common is closing. And of course in December, Nokomis Clothing announced it was closing.

Maybe it’s just because the end of the year is a good time to close down (fiscal end of year, lease expires, etc).
